Christine Mady is Senior University Lecturer at the Aalto university, Finland. Her research covers public spaces with a focus on unstable contexts, specifically Beirut, Lebanon. She investigates the role of public spaces in urban resilience, social integration, everyday life and social practices, public health, and mobility. Within this frame she covers the historic evolution of public spaces, participatory and alternative approaches to public space supply. She is a member of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and the AESOP thematic group on Public Spaces and Urban Cultures.
