Ohoud Kamal
Amman/Jordan

Ohoud is an urbanist with particular interest in researching social groups as alternative planners, and its indication of unconventional forms of governance across cities of the global South. She holds a Ph.D. in urban planning from Newcastle University and a MArch in Urban Design from University College London (UCL). She was lucky to have worked across different academic, research and design contexts. These include lecturing at the German Jordanian University, researching divergent urban experiences and working on various projects in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. She is currently an assistant professor and chair of the architecture department at the American University of Madaba (AUM), an urban planning consultant working on researching Ad-hoc and temporary urban spaces, and part of a team co-creating an experimental community park in Amman/Jordan.
